**Review of the PlayStation Pulse Elite Gaming Headset**
If you’re in the market for a new gaming headset, the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset may have caught your eye. But is it worth the investment? In this review, we’re going to take a closer look at the build quality, audio quality, connectivity issues, charging and battery life, comfortability, and microphone features of these headphones.
**Build Quality**
One of the first things I noticed when I took the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset out of the box was the micro scratches on the sides. This was a concern for me, as I was worried about how well they would hold up over time. Fast forward a month later, and there are even more scratches on the sides, which could potentially lead to peeling or other issues down the line. However, the overall build quality of the headset, including the rubber head strap and physical buttons, is solid.
**Audio Quality**
When it comes to audio quality, the PlayStation Pulse Elite shines in terms of clarity and sound over base. The 3D audio technology provides an immersive gaming experience, allowing you to hear every footstep with precision. While it may not have the deepest base for those who prefer that, the crisp audio quality is perfect for games like Spider-Man, God of War, and Call of Duty.
**Connectivity Issues**
One major issue that many users have reported with the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset is connectivity problems. The headset uses PlayStation’s Link Technology, which has been known to randomly disconnect for some users. I believe this issue may be due to the placement of the dongle on the back of the PS5 console, where it can overheat and interfere with the connection. Moving the dongle to the front of the console may help alleviate this issue.
**Charging and Battery Life**
The battery life of the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset is impressive, lasting through long gaming sessions without dying. The included charging dock makes it easy to keep the headset charged and stored away when not in use. While the headset doesn’t lay flat for easy storage, the charging dock is a convenient feature that more companies should adopt.
**Comfortability**
Comfort is key when it comes to gaming headsets, and the PlayStation Pulse Elite does not disappoint in this department. The soft ear cups and flexibility allow for a comfortable fit on your head and ears. While the headset may not lay flat for travel purposes, the comfort level is top tier.
**Microphone Features**
The microphone on the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset is equipped with AI noise reduction technology, which blocks out surrounding noises and focuses on your voice. This feature is a game-changer for gamers who want clear communication without background noise interfering. The microphone performs well in isolating your voice from ambient sounds.
**Overall Rating**
In conclusion, the PlayStation Pulse Elite gaming headset offers solid audio quality, comfort, and microphone features at an affordable price point. While there are some connectivity issues to be aware of, the overall build quality and performance of the headset make it a solid choice for gamers. With a few minor improvements, such as noise cancellation, this headset could be even better. If you’re in the market for a new gaming headset that won’t break the bank, the PlayStation Pulse Elite is worth considering.

I own a Logitech G435, when I connect my dongle on the back, the heat makes the dongle gets disconnected. Now I use it in a USB extension in the front. Never got disconnected since.
"Heat on the dongle"…. nice 😂
I have been on the fence about getting these since they were announced. It’s like a daily struggle, but with the # of disconnect complaints and the apparent issues with the Portal connection, I think I have to pass and just stick with my trusty wired sets. No reason to toss $150 at something that clearly isn’t perfect.
I have the explores and same issue with connectivity. I have the OG ps5 and use the front port and it still does it. But other than that they made a decent set of ear buds as well.
The only 2 bad things about this headset is
1. No chat/game volume button
2. Party chat can hear your talking on the phone when you're Bluetooth is paired
Number 1 is absolutely crazy for A FIRST PARTY HEADSET
Honestly I haven’t used it much on my p5 yet but it’s amazing on pc and every other device, since I can game and connect Bluetooth at the same time. And it connects flawlessly and it’s nice not having to worry about Bluetooth settings just plug and play. I also use it on my work computer bc I’m WFH, again just plug and play for impromptu meetings.
And the Bluetooth connectivity works really well too for my phone and tablet and easy to switch between them. The only thing I don’t really like is my own voice sounds muffled when I talk but I get used to it and I already speak soft in the first place. It’s a great all in one device while I’m at home and I don’t think people talk about that at all when it comes to PlayStation link.
Glad its not just me having the disconnect issue. I freaken love these things, sound is amazing especially for the price point, but the disconnects are super annoying. Its has started disconnecting me nightly now, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Only fix i found was restarting my ps5 to get the headset working again. It never occured to me it was a possible heat issue. I have it plugged in the back and my ps5 is in an entertainment stand so it probably does get pretty hot back there. The instruction book said you had to plug it in the back I thought because the USB in the front is only 3.0 not 3.2 like the back ones. Just bought an adapter for the USB type C port in the front since it is 3.2 (only 7 bucks, they are pretty cheap, just make sure its USB 3.2) that comes in tomorrow. Hoping that fixes the issue.
I do agree with the disconnections being related to the heat. Mine was at the back and it disconnected and it was almost too hot to touch when taking it out.
But now even after moving it to the front it still does it and it’s not that hot. Maybe it’s damaged now?
💯
The only problem I have so far with this headset is hearing myself talk, as in if you cup your hands over your ears and speak that’s what it sounds like to me
I have no issues connecting with the portal. It's how u do it… Do not try when it's off. Connect it to the PS5. MAKE SURE AUDIO is coming out ..then do the PlayStation steps u will hear a noise that's not the usual. And on the portal u will see. PULSE ELITE CONNECTED pop up on portal. Be warned. MUST repair if only wanna use on PlayStation good luck. Great videos
I think it disconnects bc of a software issue. I have an og ps5 and the slim and I use Astro a30’s for both and they disconnect as well
Same thing man. I hesitated returning it because of the random disconnections. I plug my usb stick in the back. I kept it because it doesn't disconnect every game session and I hope Sony fixes it soon with an update
Great product…but the constant disconnections are a massive issue and would advise not to purchase, unless Sony resolves the issue…
How is the noise reduction while other people are in the room? I find it not to be good.
You forgot to add that they do not currently support volume balance settings between chat and game. Pulse 3D had this option. I hope they add this option as soon as possible because for me it is a big disadvantage. Playing NBA 2K24 with a friend and not being able to talk freely.
sold my pulse elites yesterday. They are not comfortable and there is no bass. they are not wroth 150 plus tax
I did have connection problems with them but since the new PlayStation update over a week ago they have been behaving no problem at all
I would say of your having disconnection issues I would say get a USB C to USB A adapter and plug it in the front would be my suggestion
Bullshit it disconnects on the front of the console too I have the horizon forbidden west bundle and I've gone threw 2 of these headphones this third final one I will return it if it screws up and go for the Astros A50
