Job title: Cybersecurity Technical Project Manager (Remote)
Company: CrowdStrike
Job description: #WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We’re looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to the customer to join us in shaping the future of cybersecurity. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters – one team, one fight.
About the Role: We are CrowdStrike, a fast-growing security company that protects our wide range of customers from cybersecurity attacks. We’re investing in technical project managers who are energetic, eager to learn, flexible, and capable of managing large scale/complex cybersecurity projects in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate: As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the cybersecurity team, whose mission is threefold: to prevent the breach, to enable secure market expansion, and to scale to support the business. Your primary focus will entail driving the scheduling, scoping and execution of projects for the cybersecurity team, working directly with IT security engineers and architects, GRC specialists, vulnerability management analysts, penetration testing engineers, and incident response analysts on the team, as well as other engineers, product, project and program managers across the company. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to collaborate and ensure dependencies are well known, critical issues are identified and drive to resolution consistent with intended outcomes.
What You’ll Do: Plan and drive the tactical execution of project deliverables with cybersecurity and change management considered at all phases with business goals in mind. Help team members clarify business needs and measurable project outcomes. Build a pipeline of strategic projects. Determine and track project success metrics. Communicate project progress and delivery to team members and leaders. Identify areas of process improvement. Reduce departmental silos to increase collaboration and productivity. Implement project management best practices and operational strategies in a light-weight manner to ensure nimble execution. Track the status of project activities and ensure schedules and priorities are met, timely. Ensure critical issues are identified, tracked through resolution, and escalated as necessary. Manage cadenced project communication and status reporting. Lead Scrum meetings and create meeting minutes/action items. Provide coaching to the team in a highly collaborative and empathetic environment. Demonstrate the ability to discuss tasks with employees in a manner that gives guidance and best practices, but does not dictate implementation.
What You’ll Need: 3+ years of experience working in a cloud-based program/project management capacity. Cybersecurity experience supporting portfolios including vulnerability and pen-testing, governance and compliance, incident response, intelligence and threat analysis, and IT operations are the closest and most obvious fields for candidates to come from, but don’t hesitate to apply if you’re an expert cat-herder from some other problem domain. Enjoy (use the word FUN!) leading cross-functional teams to complete projects with multiple dependencies and constraints, and be inspired to be an active resource for technical teams. Tactfully and directly facilitate conversations to prioritize, manage tradeoffs, identify gaps and risks, drive accountability, and measure successes. Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make logical & fast decisions. Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast paced/quickly changing environment. Proven risk management and strategic/critical thinking skills. Technical know-how to include automation, data input, and the use of software to selectively share access to project data, monitor budgets, and develop procedures with a focus on managing project and program operations, monitoring customer interactions and keeping tabs on financial deadlines – and reporting appropriately and timely.
Bonus Points: Experience with/exposure to asset management, risk management and/or identity protection. Escalation management experience – diplomacy, sharp-focus, balanced conflict resolution skills. Contract management experience – coordinating legal, HR, procurement and vendor management. Operational experience with regulatory compliance including GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, SOX. Experience with Project Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies like Agile, Lean Principles, Kanban, Scrum, Scaled Agile#LI-RC1#LI-
