About the Role
We are adding to our IT team to ensure we can support the organization and our staff as we grow. The IT Assistant will support staff as they use JobTrain’s technology systems.
This role is scheduled for Monday – Friday, 6 hours per day onsite until fully trained, then will transition to a hybrid schedule. The daily schedule will be determined with the manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to IT helpdesk questions and provide in-person and remote user support
- Troubleshoot, resolve or escalate tickets that have been assigned
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, multifunction printers, phones, tablets, and other IT-related hardware/software.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain Windows Desktop Operating Systems and software
- Install, upgrade, and repair computer hardware
- Setup audio and visual equipment for meetings
- Trains users in resolving routine problems, using new software, and providing advice and guidance as needed.
- Update and maintain IT asset inventory
- Document Procedures
Qualifications:
Education / Certification
- Associate Degree preferred in a technology discipline
- A+ Certification, Google IT Support Professional Certificate, or equivalent experience
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar IT Support role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Job Knowledge: Experience using Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, TeamViewer; basic understanding of Network Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.)
- Customer orientation: Ability to understand customer needs and apply it to meet expectations in processes and services. Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and gain their trust and respect.
- Attention to detail / Accuracy / Problem Solving: Structured approach to problem-solving and research capabilities.
- Planning and Organization: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, analyze, compile, and organize data effectively
- Interpersonal / Communications: Excellent interpersonal skills for professional and courteous communication with both external and internal parties. Ability to work and communicate, in oral and written format, with people from various multicultural backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
- Growth Mindset: Desires to learn new skills in a professional environment; views growth as important for personal and professional development; seeks out opportunities to expand skills, even if change is required; demonstrates curiosity and eagerness to learn.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with MS Office suite of software. and other technology and applications necessary to perform the job.
- Physical: Ability to lift 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits
This a non-exempt position with a targeted hiring range of $28.44 – $32.50/hour depending on relevant experience.
