Ballast Services is growing, and we are seeking an energetic high-level sales professional with previous cybersecurity or technology services sales experience to help our business grow and scale. We are actively looking for a candidate with an entrepreneur spirit and amazing customer skills who desires to join an award-winning technology company with high growth potential. We seek a hunter who wants to build new relationships and consistently add new customers to our client base.
The sales rep will support our growing business by positioning customers with the right service solutions enabling a positive business experience. The sales rep will build relationships with perspective customers, qualify customer opportunities and work diligently to sell relevant best in class security focused advisory, professional and managed services.
Key Duties:
Prospecting
- Identify, qualify, and set business opportunities via a variety of sources including phone/email/social media
- Research the needs of potential prospect companies and learn who makes purchasing decisions
- Attend conferences, meetings, and industry/networking events
Conducting Business Meetings & Build Relationships with potential Clients
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with potential clients.
- Consult with prospects to understand their needs for our products and services.
- Present Ballast’s service offerings to potential clients as aligned to their needs.
- Send detailed follow-up emails recapping meeting, overview of solution, and actionable next steps
- Understand process to close the deal within each organization including access to key decision makers
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions
- Communicate via follow-up email to document next steps through closing the deal including anticipated signature and kickoff dates
Closing

Other Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality interactions with prospects and current clients
- Listen for customer needs and educate clients on technical services solutions as appropriate to best solve their business challenges.
- Focus on the customer experience, with fanatical drive of successful service outcomes
- Partner with internal technical team to craft and deliver the right technical solution for clients
- Utilize networking skills to learn about opportunities from industry peers and partners
- Lead customer events such as lunch and learns and other business meetings
- Be creative in figuring out ways to transform customer environments through technical services
- Continuously grow knowledge of Ballast Services’ products/services as well as the cybersecurity industry
- Manage time and expense to best align with corporate goals
- Identify and track opportunities progress in CRM software.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
- Meet all assigned quotas for cold calls, emails, task and event documentation
- Thoroughly document activity meeting client expectations
- Effectively collaborate with leadership team to support organization efforts to acquire accounts
- Maintain updated database of prospective client information
- Respond to client requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Answer potential questions as needed
- Provide customers with high quality statements of work with accurate pricing using the appropriate document templates
- Continuously grow knowledge of Ballast Services’ products/services as well as the cybersecurity industry
- Additional duties as assigned or needed
- Creatively think through and solve problems
- Handles pressure well while meeting deadlines and targets
- Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
Skills and Education Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Outgoing personality with personable approach.
- Represent company mission, core values and ethics
- Must be able to articulate ongoing service business value to customers
- Strong desire to evangelize company services value with potential customers
- Must have strong mix of business acumen with desire to constantly learn technology.
- 3+ years in cybersecurity or technology services sales roles, or extensive sales experience (5+) in a similar industry
- Understanding of the sales process for selling IT services
- Ability to leverage sales resources including technology, marketing, and technical teams effectively
- Top notch presentation skills with the use of power point and other MSFT products
- Strong financial planning and forecasting skills
- Collaborative team player
- Ability to know when to engage others to achieve desired sales results
- Ability to flex sales approaches for SMB and large enterprise clients
- Understanding of standard IT technologies including IT networks (wired and wireless), servers, workstations and common industry operating systems and applications.
- Knowledge of cloud and on-premises data center infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of IT security best practices
- Excellent time Management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or a related field preferred
- Technical sales certifications from industry leading OEMs is desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Base Salary: $60,000 per year
