Job description: Job Summary:This position is based on-site and involves configuring, implementing, and maintaining systems and networks within a complex virtualized system architecture for a cutting-edge training platform in a future Department of Defense (DoD) training environment.Essential Job Functions:The candidate should possess knowledge in multiple vendor platforms, including Windows, Linux, Cisco, and VMware. Proficiency in Windows Server Active Directory, domain replication, and GPO implementation is essential. Candidates should also be adept at configuring Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls. Familiarity with planning, testing, and implementing new security technologies and security configurations is required to meet customer requirements.The candidate will assist in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis in the event of a patch, component, device, or system failure. Proficiency in log analysis for issue troubleshooting is necessary. Effective coordination with vendors, team members, developers, contractors, and subcontractors is a key aspect of the role.Documentation and diagram creation reflecting updates for existing systems and environments in the design phase is a crucial responsibility.The candidate must be a self-starter capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility based on customer requirements. Travel may be required for providing support to fielded locations.The ability to lift, carry, and install objects up to 40lbs is expected.Required Skillset:

  • Take technical direction from leadership for work assignments and overall requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of switching technologies and routing protocols.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of ASA site-to-site VPN connections.
  • Perform network configurations using Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds and network security.
  • Advanced knowledge in Windows Servers 2019 Domain Controllers.
  • Ability to modify and implement GPOs.
  • Experience with VMware/vCenter/vSphere v7.
  • Implementation of VMware technology solutions for virtualization and storage.
  • Maintenance of VMware ESXi operating on different servers.
  • Creation, testing, and deployment of VMware vSphere environments.
  • Provide technical support to end users, operations, and management.
  • System maintenance while ensuring availability for end users.
  • Technical investigations of different technologies connecting to the virtual environment.
  • Root cause analysis of customer or software developer reported issues.
  • Application of cyber system security lockdowns mandated by DISA. Collaboration with the cyber team on the STIG Checklist and compliance.
  • Capable of lifting and moving equipment.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Capability of obtaining a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as IT, computer science, systems, or software engineering from an accredited college or university. (5 years’ experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 8570 Compliant IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP, or other equivalent certification required within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Cisco Firepower configuration knowledge.
  • Strong Linux support skills.
  • Kubernetes.
  • Network file systems, web, and mail servers.
  • Advanced VMWare deployment and applications knowledge.
  • Strong Windows Administration in a virtualized environment.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation systems used by the US military.
