Description:
As a Senior Network Specialist you will assure that all network operations are operational, and all engineering solutions are implemented successfully. Network solutions from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks; analyzing design, specifications, and related documents. The ideal candidate, must have demonstrated experience identifying, developing, and implementing engineering change solutions, new technology and solutions on a large enterprise national scale. With 5+ years of experience with configuring switches, routers, network appliances and 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work in a customer environment collaboratively through constraints to meet mission milestones; with excellent written and oral communications and management skills to include experience discussing and presenting technology to stakeholders such as large government agency CIO/CTO executive levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Senior Network Specialist Key Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to Crypto Configuration and deployment of crypto devices; GEM One application management of encryption devices. Network Management Applications: Cisco Prime maintenance and management, Cisco ISE maintenance and management, SolarWinds NCM (Network Configuration Manager), and SolarWinds IPAM (IP Address Manager). Hardware and IOS: F5 load balancers, Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, and Aruba Wireless. Routing Protocols/Technologies: BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF, DMVPN, SNMP, Spanning-Tree, VPC Peering, 802.1x, and Dynamic VLANS.
Qualifiers:
U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Secret security clearance required. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. DoD IAT Level II (e.g., Sec+ or CCNA Security) Certification Required. Network Vendor Associate Level Certification (e.g. Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, etc.) Required
Shift Hours: Day-Shift; core support hours are 0600 -1800. This is a 24/7/365 support environment; off-hours response/support may be required.
On-Site: Joint-Base Andrews (JBA)
Expected salary: $120000 – 130000 per year
