We have an exciting opportunity for Software Engineer on our Bare Metal Network Security team in the Application Networking and Security Division (ANS).
You will be part of a tightly knit and fast paced team that will work in an agile environment solving key customer security challenges.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
You will contribute to key pieces of Bare Metal security, including but not limited to Open vSwitch (OVS) datapath, linux based agents and kernel modules.
You will collaborate effectively with other engineers and researchers to solve complex problems.
You will bring your knowledge of distributed systems and network security as needed.
You will be driven and passionate about understanding customer needs and crafting high quality solutions to meet those needs.
You will contribute to complex software solutions that have resulted in significant market impact.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Deliver product features in a highly scalable distributed cloud security product.
Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of an agile team.
Collaborate with the team to deliver high quality code with tests in place to prevent any regressions.
Lead and participate in code reviews.
Write design specifications and document your work.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science & Engineering and 5+ years related experience or Masters in Computer Science & Engineering and 3+ years related experience
Solid knowledge of OOP concepts, object/data modeling, and data structures.
Deep working knowledge/expertise in C++.
Solid understanding of Open vSwitch (OVS) networking and security features.
Exposure to virtualization, networking, SDN, and security management technologies.
Exposure to firewall and end-point security concepts.
Python, Golang experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 – $152,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
